Lance Khazei

| Founder & Principal

Lance Khazei is an Emmy nominated writer, award winning producer and festival acclaimed director with more than thirty credits and fifty awards and honors in television, feature film, independent film and emerging media. Lance has served ten political and advocacy campaigns, including several presidential campaigns, as a volunteer, canvasser, field organizer, speechwriter, media consultant, chief strategist and senior advisor. Included among those campaigns are Barack Obama for President, Seth Moulton for President, Joe Kennedy for Congress, Gary Hart for President and the successful Service Nation advocacy campaign to pass the Kennedy Serve America Act.  Still an avid canvasser, Lance believes there’s no better way to contribute then to engage voters directly and there’s no title more important in any campaign than “volunteer.”

As a founding producer of “HuffPost Live,” the pioneering video streaming news service, Lance created “Political Junkies,” the Huffington Post’s signature political round table show. Lance also produced over one hundred hours of live news and discussions on politics, current events, entertainment, sports, the environment and science, including newsmaker interviews with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Oliver Stone and Bill Maher. HuffPost Live was named Mashable’s Best Media Innovation and earned multiple Webby Awards.

Lance Khazei was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Bedford, New Hampshire. Lance graduated from Harvard with honors where he studied government. Out of college, Lance joined City Year, a domestic Peace Corps now operating in twenty-nine cities nationwide. While there, Lance served as Director of External Affairs, wrote the first strategic plan to grow City Year beyond its founding program in Boston. Lance also co-managed the visitor program for initial visits by Bill Clinton and Jerry Brown in City Year’s campaign to promote a model for voluntary national service. Lance currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife Megan Murphree.
